How to make an Ascot tie

This is a post by Charles Henry Wolfenbloode on how to re-purpose two regular ties into an ascot.

It occurs to me that once you’ve made the newspaper pattern, you could just sew a fresh one from raw material rather than buying two matching ties.

  1. I haven’t actually made one yet. I’m using this blog lately as an uber-bookmark list and this is one of those bookmarks.I’m thinking seriously about just opening up and ironing flat a tie without the backing and such to see how it looks. I have several ties I rarely or never wear that I wouldn’t mind using as test beds.
